$398K GMV, 9,785 Orders: TikTok Shop Management Case Study
30-day engagement · All case studiesThe Problem
The Problem
The shop was live and technically functional, but nothing about it was working together. Listings were sitting in the default category structure TikTok assigns on setup, which buried the best-selling SKUs under generic titles the shop-tab algorithm had no reason to surface. Paid spend and organic content ran on separate calendars: ads promoted whichever product had budget that week, organic content promoted whatever was trending that week, and the two rarely pointed at the same listing at the same time. Sales came in bursts tied to whichever creator video happened to catch traction, then dropped off for days at a stretch. There was no dashboard, no cadence, and no way to tell in advance which week would be a good one.
The Approach
The first two weeks went into rebuilding the shop tab itself: recategorizing the catalog around actual TikTok Shop search behavior, rewriting titles and cover images for the products with the highest add-to-cart rate, and fixing a handful of listings where the pixel's reported price didn't match checkout, a mismatch that was quietly suppressing those SKUs in shop-tab recommendations. Once the catalog was clean, GMV Max spend was pointed specifically at the organic videos already converting rather than untested creative, so paid budget amplified proof instead of guessing. A weekly content cadence replaced the ad-hoc posting schedule: three to four shoppable videos per week, rotated before any single video's performance started decaying, which kept the account out of the fatigue window that usually caps a TikTok Shop's growth around week three.
The Numbers
Over the 30-day engagement: $398,812 in GMV, 9,785 orders, and 24,549 items sold, averaging 306 unique daily customers with no single day accounting for more than roughly 6% of total GMV. That distribution is the detail that matters most: it means the number wasn't one lucky viral clip, it was a shop tab, ad account, and content pipeline all pulling in the same direction at once, running on pixel data that was verified clean before any of the scaling work started (see our Pixel Setup Guide).
