How the numbers work
- Seller fee: 9% per sale in Germany since January 8, 2026 (previously 5%); 7% for electronics; 4% for new sellers in their first 60 days if they upload at least five products within 15 days and meet TikTok's other conditions.
- VAT: prices on TikTok Shop are shown including VAT. The standard German rate is 19%; some products use the reduced 7% rate. Small businesses using the small-business VAT exemption should set VAT to 0.
- Affiliate commission: paid only on orders that come through creators, so the calculator averages it by the share of affiliate orders.
- Ad spend per order: your GMV Max cost divided by orders.

What the 2026 fee increase means
Going from 5% to 9% takes an extra 4% of every sale. On a €29.99 product that's about €1.20 per order, money that used to be available for ads or creator commissions.
